I SAW! DC TM promotes youth leadership and social empowerment through creative youth led community based projects in the District of Columbia developed to nurture, cultivate and inspire creative intellectual genius.©
GOALS:
1) I SAW The Experience of Learning in DC TM seeks to ignite a spark within diverse populations in DC placed at risk, to attain higher levels of knowledge and achievement as well as acquire lifelong learning through cultural art forms in a global community.©
2) I SAW The Experience of Learning in DC TM seeks to train young motivated college students so they become high quality learning coaches who will rotate into our global community as innovative educators that nurture as well as cultivate the intellectual gifts and talents of our future populations. During each semester we will select four exceptional local university students to volunteer in our active learning projects.© 3) I SAW The Experience of Learning in DC TM seeks to develop ongoing life changing educational programs into viable community based outreach project that produced valuable achievements.© |
Youth Partnerships 2011 -2012:
(Summer 2011) Columbia Heights Youth Club
Currently serves approximately 500 youth from local DC Public Schools and is also a vetted afterschool provider in an area with low income students placed at a disadvantage by gang violence, drugs teen pregnancy and gentrification in the Ward One Northwest area of DC. (Click sidebar above page) (Summer 2012) DC Department of Summer Youth Employment Program DC Department of Summer Youth Employment Service Program, DCSYEP employed thousands of youth, ages 14-21 from diverse areas of Washington DC during the summer of 2012.
